Michael Nutter is scheduled to speak at 12:30 PM

The day begins with lunch (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) and a tasty spread of snacks will be put out around 3:00 PM. After the opening speeches, the afternoon is structured as a set of three, one-hour breakout sessions where citizens will work together to review how the agenda deals with different issues. You could attend one, two or all three of those hour-long sessions, as your schedule allows.

If you have already registered for this event, you will receive an email from Great Expectations with a survey and choice of topic discussions you want to be involved with at the event. Although there isn't a specific topic solely for the re-siting of casinos, we think it could be introduced and discussed in the "Planning and Zoning" topic and possibly the "Neighborhoods" and "Environment" topics as well. There's also a blank comment box at the bottom of the page where you could introduce casino re-siting as another discussion topic.

Unfortunately, registration for this event is closed, but there will be "no-shows". According to Great Expectations' staff, there are over 650 people registered, but probably only 500 of them will attend. So we urge people who haven't already registered to show up on Sunday and fill in the gaps! We don't believe Great Expectations will turn anybody away, as they need as much participation and feedback with this event as possible.

The Alliance will have a booth set-up top educate citizens on the value of re-siting the casinos.
